Meet my back up doulas

As a doula, my work requires that I be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days out of the year. In order to best support my clients and my own mental and personal health, I take one off call weekend per month and up to an additional 4 days non consecutively in order to give myself the opportunity to recharge and rejuvenate between births so I am always able to provide care from a place that is grounded, relaxed, and calm! While I do my utmost to ensure I am available whenever you need - the reality is that we can never predict when life happens, such as illness, emergency, or even another birth! For this reason, I have partnered with two trustworthy and solid doulas to call as back up in the event I am ever unavailable. The connection I create with my clients is deeply important to me and not one that is replaced, and for this reason I have chosen doulas who not only practice in a similar manner as I do, but whose energy matches my own.

Martha Lanphear

I came to find my passion for supporting families after I was deeply involved in my sister’s pregnancy and birth journey. Since then I have taken numerous trainings and grown my experience through supporting clients. I have completed training through Motherwit and am certified through Wise Women Way of Birth. I utilize tools gained through my diverse education to support you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I strive to ensure I continue to provide informed support for all birthing people, all bodies and all families. I am here to help honour your chosen path.

My personality shines through in my role as a birth worker, you can expect to be met with open, honest discussions, my love of all beings and some good laughs. I draw from my past desire to be a sexual health educator through using non-judgemental care no matter the topic. I have a knack for making families feel comfortable during this transformative process and confident in choosing decisions that feel right for them. I will hold space and support you in knowing your choices, so that if new obstacles arise you can continue to be in charge of your body.

When I’m not supporting families, I can be found riding my bike, doing virtual HIIT with friends, cooking and more importantly eating delicious plant-based food. My happy place is snuggling with my little niece and rescue pup, all 60 pounds of lap dog!

Justine Jandu

My name is Justine Jandu. I am a full spectrum Doula offering care from pregnancy loss, birth, to postpartum support. I love being outdoors, reading, yoga, meditation and anything to do with wellness!

I became interested in becoming a Doula after being present for the birth of my first niece. My sister had an 18 hour, unmediated birth, facilitated by a wonderful Doula and Midwife. I marveled at how my sister harnessed her own strength, went deep within herself and her persistence in birthing how she chose!

I am captivated by the human body's ability to create life. I believe birthing people are powerful beyond words. Navigating pregnancy, preparing for childbirth and becoming a new parent can be uncertain, and even challenging as we can get inundated with information. I will guide you in feeling prepared for your journey ahead. I believe being educated about what is happening in your body during birth can allow you to relax through the process and allows you, and your family to make informed decisions. My goal is to instill trust in your body and your intuition. Whether you are wanting a home birth, hospital birth or planned caesarean, I want you to feel respected, safe and supported! As a postpartum Doula my care is focused on the birthing person, holding space for you through your transformation and shining a light on your intuition.
